- A copy of a VC or WiiWare game that you download. PAL or NTSC doesnt matter.
Important: Hacking a Wii always comes with the danger of bricking the system. Although this is very rare with this hack, I WILL NOT take responsibility for any bricked systems. Proceed at your own risk!
Note: For this hack, if you have a saved game file for Twilight Princess already, you'll have to back it up or you will lose your saved game. To do this, Insert your SD card into the Wii, access the save game data, and copy it to your computer. After you have backed it up, it is extremely important that you delete the save game data from the console to continue the hack.
Okay, assuming that you backed up your save game data, and that you have all the tools mentioned above, we'll continue the hack. Follow these instructions carefully.....
1. Insert SD card into computer. Make sure you are on the root of your SD card.
2. Create folders "private", "wii", "title", and "RZDE". You shoudl now have Drive letter:/private/wii/title/RZDE. You should have something like this:
3. Open your Twilight Hack archive. You should have 4 files. Copy "rzde0.bin" to Drive letter:/private/wii/title/RZDE. Rename that file to data.bin. This will be your hacked save game data which will trigger the hack.
4. Open your WAD Installer 2.1 archive. Copy WAD-installer.elf to the root of your SD card. Rename that file "boot.elf".
5. In the root of your SD card, create a folder and label it "wad". You should now have this:
6. Open your WAD installer channel archive. Copy "Wad-installer_V2.1.wad" the the newly created "wad" folder. rename this file "title.WAD".
7. Now insert your SD card into your Wii. Access the save game data for the Wii and click on SD Card. You will see a save game data. Copy that save game to the Wii system memory.
8. After doing that, insert Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess into your Wii and start the game. You will see that there is only only one save game called "Twilight Hack". Select that one.
9. When into the game, run backwards. Within a few seconds, a black screen with scrolling white text will appear. It will tell you to press reset on your console to continue with the installation. After that, it will ask you to press reset again to go back to the Wii Window Screen. If everything went well and you followed my instructions, you should now have a black window that when you hover over it, should say "WAD installer". This will boot you into the black screen with white text without having to go through Twilight Princess.
10. Congrats! If everything went as planned, you can now start downloading VC games and WiiWare games on your computer and installing them on your Wii. When you download a game, most of the time they will be labeled game name.wad. ALWAYS rename the file to "title.WAD" and place it into the "wad" folder on your SD card. VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure than when you do download games that you always keep a backup of the game. That way you can safely uninstall the game.
