Στην ονειρική σκηνή του Βοτανικού, που σαν έναστρος ουρανός φώτισε τη βραδιά του ελληνικού τελικού, η κορυφαία Ελληνίδα ποπ σταρ ερμήνευσε με το δικό της μαγικό τρόπο τα υποψήφια τραγούδια: "A beautiful night" σε στίχους και μουσική Πήγασος, "Who cares about love" του Νίκου Καρβέλα, "Welcome to the party" σε μουσική Δημήτρη Κοντόπουλου και στίχους Dimitri S και "Everything" σε μουσική Νίκου Καρβέλα και στίχους της Άννας Βίσση! CODE English Version "Everything" for the ESC Both the viewers and the panels of judges reached a decision and their music verdict elevated "Everything" into the song that Anna Vissi will sing for Greece in the ESC Athens 2006! The Votanikos Club dream stage lit up the Greek final like a starry night sky and the ultimate Greek pop star performed the four candidate songs in her own magical way. Just to remind you, the four songs were: "A Beautiful Night," music and lyrics by Pegasus, "Who Cares About Love," music and lyrics by Nikos Karvelas, "Welcome to the Party," music by Dimitris Kontopoulos and lyrics by Dimitri S and "Everything," music by Nikos Karvelas and lyrics by Anna Vissi. It was a tough call to make, but absolutely necessary, as one song alone could make it to the ESC final. "Everything" amazed both viewers and judges and was chosen to represent Greece in the 51st Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Athens! As for the show, it was a true party with amazing guests and even more amazing hosts, Giorgos Kapoutzidis and Zeta Makrypoulia, who really put on a spectacular show to amuse us all! Well, they did it! Sparkling Night Giorgos and Zeta invited us to a very interesting trip back in time, back to the most important moments of Greece's participations to the ESC, making us remember, relive and sing favourite old songs, as well as have fun watching unique reenactments of older participations! We listened closely and remembered unique Greek Eurovision moments we loved so much, like "Mathima Solfez", "Stop", "Anoixi" and of course "I Would Die for You"! Sakis Rouvas, "Number One" European singer Helena Paparizou, as well as the great dame of Greek music, Nana Mouschouri, gave a special note to the Greek final, as they wished Anna Vissi all the best through a live link. Sakis' co-host Maria Menounos, who appeared on video, stressed how happy she is to be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest. However, unique Anna Vissi stole the limelight once more, when she appeared on stage to perform four unique songs! Dazzling as ever, she made us dance to the beat of three uplifting songs and touched our hearts with her atmospheric ballad! International Artists in the Greek Final Turkish participant Sibel Tüzün, Maltese participant Fabrizio Faniello, Norwegian participant Christine Guldbrandsen and Cypriot entry Annette Artani marked the show in their own unique way by performing their songs. All four of them were clearly thrilled with the show, Anna Vissi and the people, who uplifted them as a small indication of what awaits them in May! "Everything", which Anna Vissi will perform in the ESC in May, was chosen by the audience (through televoting) and the panel of judges by a 60-40 percentage respectively. The panel of judges consisted of Mimis Plessas (President), Antonis Andrikakis, Dimitris Starovas, Themos Anastasiadis, Christina Politi, Evangelia Piskera, Antonis Karatzikos and Rena Kapitsala, while Sietse Bakker from ESCTODAY and Fotis Konstantopoulos from OIKOTIMES shared a joint vote. It should be noted that ESCTODAY and OIKOTIMES are independent websites dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest. Anna Vissi stressed she loves all four songs the same and her wish was that Greeks would choose the song they liked the most! Regarding the winner, "Everything," she underlined it is a song she would sing from the heart and give all her best for Greece. The Party Just Got Started! The Votanikos Club was packed with people, who wanted to share an amazing night with Anna Vissi. The audience gave the ultimate Greek pop star its most warm applause and joined her in a most enthusiastic way, when she performed the four candidate songs. What if these songs are only aired for a few days. Anna's fans had learned the lyrics by heart and gave the Greek final a unique atmosphere of fun! Their warm applause indicated that they did not want the party to end! What if the lights were turned off for tonight. We invite you to join us all the way to the great celebration on 20 May 2006! -------------------- |

You should have seen what happend on a contest for song that will represent Serbia & Montenegro. Best songs from both federal units (people's choice, voting by SMS) were played before Belgrade audience. Jury of 8 music experts (4 from Serbia and 4 from Montenegro) was supposed to pick the winner, but judges from Montenegro did not give a single vote to the best songs from Serbia! So, in the end won the same Montenegrin band that represented the country last year and that didn't even win in Montenegro (it came second there by people's vote). It was such an obvious political setup, because winners are close to the Montenegrin regime.
People at the event ware so outraged they didn't allow winners to play their winning song at the end of contest and chased them off the stage by throwing bottles. Audince was calling for the best Serbian song for about 20 minutes, and the band finaly came on stage and sang their song "Crazy Summer Dance" twice. In the end, everybody in the room was dancing, all performers and audience alike, it was incredible. It's still unknown which song will represent our contry. |

It seems that Serbia & Montenegro will not have a representative in Athens. Two sides were not able to reach compromise and there seems to be no other solution.
This was one of the most despicable moves of the Montenegrin lidership so far! They have obviously setup the content so that their favorite would win. Plus, it has now come into the open that their band was supposed to perform in Athens wearing "Independant Montenegro" shirts, just two days before the referendum that desides wether we stay one contry or not. This is a sad ending of a dirty political game. There are many thing to regret. First of all, this means the end for the talented Montenegrin band "No Name", which you might remember from the last year's Eurosong. After this episode, they can kiss their careers goodbye. No one in Serbia will ever listen to them again, nor will they have a concert here. They may remain popular in Montenegro, but Montenegro only has about 300 000 people. They've let themselves be manipulated, poor kids. Second thing I regret is that Serbian song "Crazy summer dance" by "Flamingos" will not be played in Athens. Song is excellent and would probably win the contest easily, but I can't make any guarantees without listening competition from other contries. "Crazy summer dance" was by far the best song we ever had for this contest and here is why: 1. It's a tra-la-la song. Without much artistic value, it an easy-going song with catchy rythm that makes you want to dance (think Macarena). Balads usually don't win this contest, happy songs do. 2. Song is technicly perfect. It is simpy made for winning the contest. Lyrics were mixture of Serbian and English, and such combinations worked many times so far. It starts with "Kalispera" and couple of lines in Greek, just to heat up the audience in Athens. Then go verses like "Paris, London, Lisabon Copenhagen, Prague and Rome..." Foreners should like that. Then come the female vocals that were done flowlessly, and it is all finished by an episode by folk singer Luis, who has such a strong on-stage presence. Tune is so catchy and familiar, whole Europe would dance to it for months to come. 3. Contest is in friendly Greece, which should make the audience react well to our song, and that should affect people who watch it on TV. 4. Just sheer number on Serbs living in other European contries will always guarantee us a place among top songs as long as SMS voting is used. Same goes for contries such are Turkey and Bosnia. |

Thats really sad to hear!
![]() Well, I hope that a solution could be found in the end! And by the way: CODE It's a tra-la-la song. Without much artistic value, it an easy-going song with catchy rythm that makes you want to dance (think Macarena). Balads usually don't win this contest, happy songs do. I have to agree with you! i read the story about Servia today at the newspaper and watched some short video in the news....
the most alarmingfact is that only one day after the Eurovision contest held in Greece there will be a Poll about Montenegro 's independence right ? this could be the first politic decision after a song contest ( there has been a war after a football match between Nicaragua & San Salvador in the past ) -------------------- ![]() |

P.S.: Morbius, I saw on TV what happened on your song contest. It's very sad, that Serbia & Montenegro will not have a representative in Athens... Hope things will be better next year.. -------------------- Imagination sets the spirit free,

QUOTE It seems that Serbia & Montenegro will not have a representative in Athens. Two sides were not able to reach compromise and there seems to be no other solution. Des Morbias ![]() Well if u ask me, who the f.... cares about Eurovision? I don't. Because there is no good music, no good artists, just group of bad singers with bad music... Maybe i'm wrong, but i don't see why should i be so excited with Eurovision? And i'm glad because SCG does not have any representative, they suck enough already... |

Since we are having bad results in all the sports that we used to be good in (basketball, waterpolo, handball...), maybe Eurosong contest would go our way...
Or who knows, maybe we won't do so bad in football this summer. We never had much luck in that sport. |
