So, i was in Copenhagen, Denmark for a couple of days and consider myself privileged and fortunate to run into an outdoor photo exhibition entitled '100 Places To Remember Before They Disappear' :

"100 Places to Remember Before they Disappear features 100 photographs from one hundred different places around the world in risk of disappearing or seriously threatened by climate change.

The pictures are taken by some of the world¢s best photographers and all the places are based on reports from UN¢s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

On this website you can see the photographs and find further information and news about climate change and our project.

"100 Places to Remember…" is also available as books, exhibitions, posters, postcards, calendars and TV-spots. "

"Outdoor photo exhibition in Copenhagen shows 100 amazing places endangered by climate change.

A group of fishermen in the Ganges Delta throw fishing nets towards the camera. The blue sky above them glitters against the walls of the Royal Danish Theatre behind them.

But whereas the theatre has been in the same spot for 261 years and is in no danger of disappearing, the Ganges Delta may be completely changed in just 60 years if we do not stop climate change.

That is why the picture of the fishermen is now standing at a square in the heart of Copenhagen, as part of the exhibition 100 places to remember before they disappear.

The 100 photos are here to illustrate the facts behind the naked numbers filling sheet after sheet of IPCCC reports.

“By communicating directly to people on the street, we want to touch their emotions and sharpen their awareness on the impacts of climate change. Only if people know what¢s at risk, are they willing to act,“ said exhibition organiser Søren Rud at the opening on September 26.

The photos are taken by some of the best photographers in the world, and the exhibition will travel to several big cities around the globe.

People who will not get the chance to see the pictures in one of the cities, can feast their eyes on them in a coffee-table book from a certified green printing house.

Danish Minister of Climate and Energy, Connie Hedegaard, opened the exhibition.

“You give us at least 100 concrete reasons why we must have a climate agreement this year,” she said.

“Beneath the picture of Kilimanjaro people are already struggling to get by due to the effects of climate change. You can all help by putting pressure on the politicians: tell them that you demand action now,” she passionately encouraged the audience.

If we do, hopefully the Ganges Delta will be there for much longer than any building. "
