it is obvious that untill AMD circulates the Brisbane, as an answer to Intel... the later will completely dominate the market... and do not be surprised to see quad-core flourish sooner than we thought

QUOTE(NickTheGreek @ 12 Oct 2006, 03:14 PM) it is obvious that untill AMD circulates the Brisbane, as an answer to Intel... the later will completely dominate the market... and do not be surprised to see quad-core flourish sooner than we thought I tested the Quad , not quite as impressive for now. The thread management is goign to be a little bit of a pain for software developers. The reality is, for most users, single core is the way to go, still. Core2 Duo is better than most AMD X2's on most math benchmarks but it has it's issues. I have 5 machines at home .. the best one is the dual Opteron (for general purpose computing). As for the AM2 socket, it's been long coming and holds ton of potential but some birds have said there will be changes in the not so far future. AMD is preparing an all out attack on Intel. NExt year is going to be interesting for hardware maniacs. Oh and for the love of god, stay away from VIA chipsets. |
