Yesha Rabbinical Council: During time of war, enemy has no innocents

The Yesha Rabbinical Council announced in response to an IDF attack in Kfar Qanna that "according to Jewish law, during a time of battle and war, there is no such term as 'innocents' of the enemy."

All of the discussions on Christian morality are weakening the spirit of the army and the nation and are costing us in the blood of our soldiers and civilians," the statement said. (Efrat Weiss)

Presumably, these rabbinical judgements apply to BOTH sides, both to Israel, and Hizbollah.

Also to the Syrians, Iran, and whoever else the Israelis might find themselves in conflict with.

Compassion, and mercy toward the enemy (including non-combatants) are signs of weakness, an expression of "Christian morality" that no one needs concern himself with.

Deliberate bombing and the extermination of civilians, men, women, children, and the elderly, is perfectly acceptable.

Targeting of hospitals, food storage facilities, power plants, water supplies, ambulances, and relief workers who are providing aid and comfort to the enemy is all part of the game.

In war, according to the pronouncements of the Rabbinical Council, there are no rules.

Yesha Rabbis: ?Fight the True Enemy?

Israel National News: July 12, 2006

(IsraelNN.com) The Yesha Rabbinical Council said Wednesday morning?s attack by Hizbullah on the northern border was a ?direct continuation of relinquishing [territory] and weakness,? and called on the IDF to ignore Christian morals in the fight to end the terror from the north.

The council called for the establishment of an emergency government to ?fight the true enemy as is appropriate and to rescind the orders to destroy and evict Jews.?

The statement is a direct reference to the impending expulsion of a number of small Jewish outposts in Judea and Samaria, in preparation for further expulsions of larger communities in accordance with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert?s unilateral withdrawal plan.

The council blamed the attack on last summer?s expulsion of Jewish communities from the Gush Katif region of Gaza and the planned expulsion of some 70,000 Jews from Judea, Samaria and possibly several neighborhoods in Jerusalem in order to set permanent borders for the state.

Yesha rabbis call for 'extermination of the enemy'

Jerusalem Post: July 12, 2006

The Yesha Rabbinical Council blamed the attack on the north on Wednesday morning on a "weakening of our grip on the land of Israel."

The rabbis saw the attack as a "direct continuation of relinquishing [territory] and weakness."

The Council called on the IDF to ignore Christian morals and "exterminate the enemy in the north and the south." They advised that an emergency government be established to "fight the true enemy as is appropriate, and to rescind orders to destroy and evict Jews."
