Those of you that have bought a branded PC or Laptop ( IBM, Dell, HP, Compaq etc ) may have noticed something like that in the System Properties :
[center][/center] Well, the point is in making your own image in the bottom left of the System Properties panel, thus customizing the computer to its owner, and not some manufacturer. The easy way to do it : Download OEM Logo Master 2.0 by Mindbeat ( www.mindbeat.com ), a freeware utility designed for this purpose or follow this tutorial For the www.yourforum.gr we have attached a set of 2 files ( OEMINFO.INI & OEMLOGO.BMP ) here that if you put in the CODE \Windows\System32\ folder ( avoid to overwrite existing files by moving your own to another place first, this applies ONLY if your PC has already those files showing the manufacturer ) then your PC will look like this :

A more detailed tutorial :
_______________________ Frequently, computers built by PC vendors (also called OEMs = Original Equipment Manufacturers) come with custom (OEM) Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000, XP or 2003 releases preinstalled. You can tell by opening Control Panel -> System -> General tab -> look at the picture in the lower left corner, usually displaying the vendor's logo and their company name, internet address, support e-mail and/or phone number in the lower right corner. You'll also notice a "Support Information..." button below the text area, which shows company or system details when left-clicked. This looks cool, but it would look even better if my own logo, name and computer specs would show up instead. Easy, just create/edit OEMINFO.INI (a plain text file located in %windir%\System on Win95/98/ME or in %windir%\System32 on WinNT4/2000/XP/2003) with Notepad, and add/modify your own lines under these sections:
Manufacturer=Type manufacturer name here Model=Type computer model name here SupportURL=Type URL here [may NOT display!] LocalFile=Type file name here [may NOT display!] [OEMSpecific] [Support Information] Make sure you type FYI: See OEM Logo + Info in "action". More info: -------------------- |
