Description: U.S. State of Delaware traditional food - "The Diamond State" Thomas Jefferson gave this nickname to Delaware, according to legend, because he described Delaware as a "jewel" among states due to its strategic location on the Eastern Seaboard.

Recipe Ingredients

- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 2 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 lb. crabmeat

Recipe Instructions
|
Heat cooking oil to 375 degrees.
Mix dry ingredients.
In separate bowl, beat the egg and add milk and crabmeat.
Stir into flour mixture.
Mix well.
Drop mixture from spoon into hot oil, and fry until delicately browned.
