I don't know, preferences seem to change with age. When I was young (as in my teens) and discovering the magnificent world of alcohol, i prefered strange mixtures and weird named drinks (white russians, grasshoppers etc).
These days gimme a good ole' pound o' lager any time!! Yarrr maties!!! Shiver me timbers! Anyway, although i still enjoy many straight shots (our good friend Johnny ) i find myself atracted to beer and wine. Ouzo is an indulging idea, too!! Ouzo rules! -------------------- I'm so cool that when I go to sleep sheep count me...

I love wine, especially red wine.
Other options are: vodka with lemon, caipirinia and margarita! -------------------- Imagination sets the spirit free,

Tonic Votka is good for any situation. If the day is hot, there is nothing like a cold beer. Sweet red wine is also always a good choice, but I don't like very dry wines.

QUOTE(Sabbattack @ 28 Sep 2005, 01:33 AM) Phibeeeees!!! I could't expect just ouzo from you!!!! I find more appropriate sth like OCEANS OF OUZO!!! My own preferences seem to point out somewhere round bacardi, although I could't agree more that ouzo is just the finest when it comes down to "heavy" situations(due to its price mainly ) -------------------- [center]"Death is the great equalizer. QUOTE(ladygorb @ 3 Oct 2005, 12:49 PM) About Ouzo It is not produced in any other part of the world except Greece. Ouzo, is a 100% Greek product and Greece's National drink. The creation of ouzo is made from a precise combination of pressed grapes and herbs and berries. It begins as alcohol made from grape skins or other local produce. It is then brought together with herbs and other ingredients, including star anise, coriander, cloves, angelica root, licorice, mint, wintergreen, fennel, hazelnut and even cinnamon and lime blossom. The mixture is boiled in a copper still, regulated by a taster. The resulting liquid is cooled and stored for several months before it is diluted to about 80 proof, or 40 per cent alcohol. It is usually served as an aperitif, but is also used in some mixed drinks and cocktails. When mixing Ouzo with water it will turn whitish and opaque. The reason is that the anise oil dissolves and becomes invisible when mixed with a usual alcohol content, but as soon as the alcohol content is reduced, the essential oils transform into white crystals, which you cannot see through. The best Ouzo it is considered that of the island of Lesvos. Most cafe owners in Greece will admit that the best ouzo comes from this island and they probably carry one of the more popular Lesvos brands. Ouzo drinking is an art. Or maybe it's a way of life. Ouzo itself, symbolizes more than anything else, the Greek way of thinking. This way of thinking is based on optimism, in everyday practice of the philosophy, and the joy of life! -------------------- Imagination sets the spirit free,
