Waldorf Salad - NEW!
U.S. State of New York traditional food - In 1893 created by Oscar Tschirky, the maître d'hôtel of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City the Waldorf Salad was born. He created this salad for a 'society supper' to which 1,500 persons came from Boston, Baltimore, and Philadelphia...For Sheila Hibben, food editor of The New Yorker, his creation was a mixed blessing. She thought his combination of apples and mayonnaise headed American housewives in the wrong direction 'and bred the sorry mixture of sweet salads' that remain very much on the gastronomical scene..."

Oregon Dungeness Crab Salad Nicoise - NEW!
U.S. State of Oregon traditional food - Salad Nicoise (knee-SWAHZ) – Nicoise is a french descriptive term for dishes served with particular foods, garnishing usually includes garlic, tomatoes, anchovies, black olive, capers, and lemon juice. Its "proper" assembly is disputed. Some people say the salad is served on a bed of lettuce and others say that tomatoes are the base. And some don't arrange the elements of the salad at all, but just toss it all together. But what makes it Oregon's own is Oregon's sweet dungeness crab and dressing.

Horiatiki - Greek Salad - NEW!
Greek salad, or horiatiki, is a rough country salad of juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumber, sliced red onion, green pepper, crumbly feta cheese and plump kalamata olives. Serve this delightful combination as a side dish or as a light meal with some crusty bread.
Please my greek friends let me know if this is not correct. This is how they serve it at the Greek restaurant I frequent.
