Description: Country Austria - For the traditional Wiener Schnitzel, the Viennese normally use veal, and lard to fry it. But you can also use pork, chicken or turkey and oil to fry it. It will taste just as delicious either way! |
Recipe Ingredients

- Ingredients:
- 2 lb veal steaks
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup of flour
- 2 cups of breadcrumbs
- 2 oz butter
- 2 lemons, quartered
- salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Instructions

Serves: 4 Lay the veal steaks out on a board and pound them down with a meat tenderiser until each steak is ¼ “ thick.
You will need 3 shallow dishes.
One with the flour and seasoning, one with the egg and one with the breadcrumbs.
Coat each veal steak in the seasoned flour tapping any excess off.
Next place the floured veal steak in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs.
Do this to the remaining steaks.
Add the butter to a pan, when hot add the veal steaks (you may have to do this in batches).
Cook for about 4 min on each side, or until golden.
Serve with wedges of lemon.
