My one and only love was Amstrad CPC 6128 back in 1986 ...
I still feel the need once in every 3 months to run the emulator just to see the Amstrad BASIC screen ... CODE http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?st=1&c=111 Then i bought my first PC, it was 1989 The computer was a 80286 based AT running at 16 MHZ with 1 MB RAM, 2 floppies, NO hard disc, a VGA with 256KB VRAM and a nice 14'' color monitor ... Then in 1990 i upgraded to 80386 - 40 MHZ by AMD, RAM 2 MB, also bought a very expensive Western Digital HD with 170MB capacity - it is still working ! Later i bought a Cyrix PR-166+ Pentium based PC with 16MB, 8GB HD, S3 Virge SVGA & a nice EIZO F35 15'' color CRT Later a PII-266 MHZ with 64MB, 2x20GB HD ... After that a PIII-800 MHZ with 256MB RAM, 2X80GB HD, ATI Xpert 2000 TVout, Sblaster Live! and a nive EIZO T561 17'' CRT Nowadays i use a P4 s478 3200 ( overclocked at 3600+ ) MHZ, with 1 GB RAM , 1x120GB SATA 2x160GB RAID 0 1x300GB 1x250GB & 1x 200GB hard discs, ASUS P4C800-E wireless enabled and dual monitor output to a CRT & 19'' TFT. Also a Toshiba Satellite 17'' TFT laptop with s478 P4-3000 with 512MB RAM, 80GB HD etc QUOTE What a lot of money spent on these ...

My computers was a Spectrum ZX (!Sir Clive was the man!) witch I still own and it’s still functioning (nice memories : loading the games from tape and at the and of the loading procedure after five or more minutes <Tape loading Error> , still nice times), commodore 128d, amiga , amiga 1200 and then I found the wonderful world of PC (μπλιαχ!!!) with an AMD k II. From then on i upgraded my system with every chance i got and im now with a P4 3.4EE .

My first PC was an Amstrad 6128 which i replace it relatively soon with Atari STE 1024 !!! My first love. I remember dreaming upgrade Atari with a 40 whole MB Hard Disk.
After many year using Atari, I unfortunately abandon it with a Pentium 166 MMX. Then I bought a PII 350 MHz with 384 MB memory, 20 GB HD, Nvidia TNT2, Soundblaster Live. Now that PC is been used as a router to AWMN. My new PC is an AMD 64 3000 with 1 GB mem, 2x200GB RAID 0, 1x200GB Hard Disks, Geforce 6600GT and dual monitor output to a 19'' TFT & 17'' CRT. -------------------- |
