Whether they help you make more money as a publisher or reach the right audience as an advertiser, our product updates give you a brief overview to some of the latest features and enhancements made to OpenX products. Speak with your account manager if you have any questions or support needs. All product updates will be available from Thursday, June 28.

User Interface:

-       Ad Traffickers are now able to add HTML creative to the creative library, in addition to file-based creatives.

-       OpenX now supports ad units with multiple ad sizes, so that each ad unit can support a maximum of four alternative ad sizes, in addition to the main primary ad size (five in total).

-       Various new ad quality controls have been introduced in OpenX Market, namely:

  • For ad requests from sites in which a brand filter is defined, the ad server will automatically block ads from buyers who are not supplying brand information.
  • You can now bulk upload a list of brands and/or domains for filtering at the site or account level.  In addition, to support better readability, a site’s brand filters are displayed as a separate field on the create site screen and as a separate column on the site list screen.

-       There˘s also a new look and feel for the submit buttons when you are on the ˇcreate site˘ and ˇcreate ad unit˘ screens.

Reporting:

-       For users associated with Publisher accounts types, you will now have improved reporting usability through enhancements including detailed inventory performance reports, performance comparisons on the dashboard and ability to select hourly, daily, weekly or monthly reporting resolution. This means you can highlight campaign performance for a particular point in time.

Targeting:

-       Users can now target entire publishers in addition to being able to target sites, site sections, ad unit groups, or ad units.

-       Additionally there have been improvements in mobile carrier targeting. Whereas this was previously limited to mobile applications that used the OpenX SDK, mobile carrier targeting can now be achieved for mobile websites.

Event-level Feeds:

-       A new field, “traffic_rejected”, has been added to each event in the event-level feed to help identify which ones are rejected from being reported in the UI.

Real-Time Bidding:

-       OpenX Market bid request may include an obfuscated IP address value. Essentially this will mean that the last octet of the IP address will be truncated in the user_ip_address, and device:ip attributes. This is done based on privacy settings available to our supply partners and we will continue to provide the complete IP address (all octets) when it is available.

Creative ID in bid response:

-       The Creative ID (crid) field has been added to the OpenX RTB BidResponse protocol as part of this release. The availability of this field will allow OpenX to identify individual creative thereby simplifying ad quality management, debugging and communication.

Join the next OpenX Enterprise demo on Wednesday, July 18 at 11:00am (PST) to learn how you can take advantage of these new product enhancements. (Existing Enterprise users may join one of the regular training seminars; please check with your account manager for details.)
