Match Point (2005) I saw a trailer the other day and i must confess i am turning into a Scarlett Johansson fan, so i am just asking before looking for that movie : is it worth it ? has anybody seen it ? ![]() Passion Temptation Obsession I ![]() I take a guess this is not the average social boring Fatal Attraction (1987) like movie where "people screw each other for 1000 excuses and serious reasons and not just for the fun of it".... after all, this movie is by Woody Allen so IT HAS to be different. ![]() ![]() Chris Wilton is a former tennis pro, looking to find work as an instructor. He meets Tom Hewett, a well-off pretty boy. Tom's sister Chloe falls in love with Chris but Chris has his eyes on Tom's fiancΓ©e, the luscious Nola. Both Chris and Nola know it's wrong but what could be more right than love? Chris tries to juggle both women but at some point, he must choose between them... ![]() Tennis pro Chris Wilton takes a job as a tennis instructor and hits it off immediately with one of his students, wealthy young Tom Hewitt. Tom introduces Chris to his family and Chris falls quickly into a romance with Tom's sister Chloe. But despite the growing certainty that Chris and Chloe will marry, and the enormous professional and financial advantages that come Chris's way through his relationship with the delighted Hewitt family, Chris becomes increasingly intrigued and eventually romantically involved with Tom's fiancΓ©e, Nola Rice, a struggling American actress. Their passionate trysts leave Chris in danger of losing the wealth and position he has now come to enjoy. The only solution to the dilemma seems unthinkable... ![]() -------------------- |

i finally watched it today, after hours too...
well, it was a very strange movie... gives a twisted feeling ... the protagonist is a male Media, killing his girlfriend and his unborn child to save his social status and his marriage, covering it up ... and it seems he gets away because of a sign of luck ... after all it IS all about luck : "The man who said "I'd rather be lucky than good" saw deeply into life. People are afraid to face how great a part of life is dependent on luck. It's scary to think so much is out of one's control. There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net, and for a split second, it can either go forward or fall back. With a litte luck, it goes forward, and you win. Or maybe it doesn't, and you lose. " -------------------- |
