Now, what we have : Intracom Jetspeed 500

To forward ports ( open them in jargon) you have to make the machine understand via NAT (Network Address Translation) where it should forward incoming data from a specific port. For example, if we are talking about E Mule or E Mule Plus it is common that we must forward the 4623 TCP and 4673 UDP ( although these numbers are perfectly customizable) to the INTERNAL IP address of the machine that will host the software. For instance, if the GATEWAY IP is 192.168.1.1 ( common for JETSPEED if i do not mix with Thomson Alcatel Speedtouch which uses 10.0.0.138) and your PC is 192.168.1.2 you must go to the NAPT menu in the Control Panel of the ADSL router and forward 4623 > 192.168.1.2 TCP and also 4673 > 192.168.1.2 UDP.

Caution ! If you are using XP SP2 or another software firewall like F-Secure, you must ALSO let trhe software OPEN the appropraite ports...

We will have a chance to discuss further when you state your progress or when i manage to get back in Greece and see a manual for JetSpeed

My short experience to this Intracom product has taught me, though, that it is easier to work directly to the device than understanding the manual ! cool.gif

You can also set ports manually by yourself, both in software like E Mule and the Jetspeed. Be careful, though, because you wouldn't like to use certain ports that are usually used for SSL transactions etc... That would be TOO risky. To have a better idea of current port assignment, check at this part of the forum :
