I have a 120 Gb hard disc seperated in two partitions. C: for windows, programms etc. and D: for mp3s and downloads.

I just purchased a 250 Gb disk that will be used for mp3s. So the first thing I will do is transfer everything from D: to my new 250 Gb HD.

My questions is:

is there a way I can delete the partitions in my 120 Gb HD without formating the disk?

It will take me lots of time to backup C:, reinstall windows, get the updates, install all my programs from the beggining...

[title]Norton Partition Magic 8.05 Build 1371[/title]

Partitioning allows you to manage your hard drive more efficiently. Your computer views each partition as a separate hard drive, automatically giving it a drive letter, allowing you to conveniently organize your hard drive and maximize the performance of your system. Dividing your hard drive into separate partitions plays an essential role in maintaining your computer-preventing conflicts, protecting data, improving efficiency, and increasing performance. PowerQuests award-winning PartitionMagic allows you to separate data files, operating systems, applications, games, and downloads by creating and resizing partitions quickly and easily, without reformatting your hard drive or harming your data.

BootMagic®, included with PartitionMagic, enables you to safely load and run multiple operating systems (OSes) on the same computer without conflict. Test a new OS without giving up the stability of the OS you are currently using. PartitionMagic also includes PQBoot, which enables you to select which OS to run on your next reboot while running in Windows.

I was a bit wrong. I had three partitions on my 12 Gb HD. I managed to transfer all my files to my new HD and I megred D: and E:. So now D: and E: are one drive (D:) and after formating D: I tried to megre it wit C:. I do it with partition magic but when I reboot the pc and it does the procedure before starting windows, but after a while I get this message:

Error 4 while executing Batch

Error 4. Bad argument/parameter.

Any ideas?

OK, mission accomplished. These topics are a great resource for future users though.

All I have to say is DO NOT,

I repeat,

DO NOT user Norton Partition Magic.

Acronis Disk Director Suite 10 will do the work perfectly! Norton Partition Magic didn't do the job for me and messed things up, so this is another prove that Symantec products suck!

In the afternoon I will upload the program with its key generator so that everybody can have it.

Thanks a lot Nick. Lots of time was saved with your help.
