Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of Lost Ark



Raiders of the Lost Ark, also known as Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, is a 1981 adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg. It is the first installment of the Indiana Jones trilogy. The story introduces us to archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford), who is hired by the U.S. government to go on a quest for the mystical lost Ark of the Covenant. Accompanied by his old friend Sallah (John Rhys-Davies) and ex-flame Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), he must retrieve the ark before the Nazis and his adversary, French archaeologist Rene Belloq (Paul Freeman) acquire it first.

The original film sparked waves of interest in old 1930s style cliffhanger serials, leading to two sequel films, talk of a third, and a television series "chronicle" of the lead character, Indiana Jones, as a young man prior to his feature film adventures. It has since become a cult classic with a huge following.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom



Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a 1984 action/adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg. First released on May 23, 1984, it is a prequel to the hugely successful action movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. This film is the second released, though the twenty-third chronologically, in a series of film and TV productions about the adventures of the heroic fictional archaeologist Indiana Jones.

Like the first, it starred Harrison Ford as Jones, was directed by Steven Spielberg and based on an original story by George Lucas. Many members of the original crew returned, including cinematographer Douglas Slocombe, editor Michael Kahn and composer John Williams. The film is darker in tone than its predecessor. The film was always intended to be a horror movie as well as a remake of elements of Gunga Din (1939).

Young Indiana Jones Chronicles



The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is a TV series that ran from 1992 to 1996. A form of "edutainment", the 44 episode series explores the childhood and youth of the fictional character Indiana Jones. The series primarily stars Sean Patrick Flanery as Indy aged 16-20, but also includes several episodes with Corey Carrier as Indy aged 8-10. George Hall also played Indy at age 93 for the bookends of each episode. The show was created and executive produced by George Lucas, who was also behind the Indiana Jones feature films.

Indiana Jones and the Spear of Destiny



Along the way, few games with Indy were planned, then canceled.(LucasArts briefly considered making a game named "Spear of Destiny" (involving the spear of Longinus). They eventually abandoned the idea of creating a classical adventure game in the Indiana Jones series, instead focusing on Tomb Raider-style 3D action games. Thus, ending it with the release of 'Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine', followed by 'Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb' and another being released circa 2007 or 2008.)Since the game,was cancelled, Dark Horse Comics released a four-part comic book series based upon cancelled game, 'Indiana Jones and the Spear of Destiny'.

Indiana Jones And The Iron Phoenix



Although the game was canceled, an Iron Phoenix four-issue comic book adaptation was published by Dark Horse Comics, now Lucasfilm's partner for making Star Wars comics. Its art is good, and the writing is decent, so we recommend you pick up the series if you can find it, especially since it offers insight into what could have been another classic LucasArts adventure.

(However, a lot of the details of the game, including the location of the Nazis' secret base in South America and the use of Hitler himself as a villain, were changed in the comic. Apparently the guys at Lucasfilm felt the story needed to be "toned-down" for comics.)

Indiana Jones and The Golden Fleece



In the middle of an archeological dig during the World War II German invasion of Greece where he stumbles across an ancient order of mystics who are seeking the fabled Fleece once used by Jason to bring power and prosperity to an empire. When things begin to get dicey, Jones is rescued by Omphale, the strong-willed daughter of a Greek cargo pilot, and by the time Indy figures out what's going on, he's got the Turkish secret police, the ancient sect, and the entire German army out to get him and his findings.
Jones and his newfound companion, Omphale, plunge toward their deaths in a stolen German war plane while being pusued by the Cult of Hecate, an ancient order of mystics seeking the fabled Golden Fleece. If Indy survives the plane crash, he still has to beat them to the fleece, stay one step ahead of the cult, and keep out of sight of the police and the Germans.

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis



A four-issue comic book mini-series based on the game's storyline was published by Dark Horse Comics in 1991 written by Lee Mars before the game was released. The following years, there were rumours that the Fate of Atlantis storyline was taken from a fourth IJ movie concept. Whether this is true or not, the upcoming fourth Indiana Jones movie probably won't have any relations with the game at all.

It's 1939 - the eve of World War II.

Dr Indiana Jones and his friend Marcus Brody are asked by a certain Mr. Smith to find a particular strange idol from the College museum to match a strange key which he possesses. When Indy returns with the item, they find a small metal bead inside the statue. Immediately Smith points a gun at Indy and Marcus, takes the statue and its contents and prepares to escape. He succeeds eventually, but not without a fist fight with Indy.

From the documents found in the coat Smith lost in the fight, it is revealed he's really Klaus Kerner, an agent of the Third Reich. For some reason he is interested in excavations that happened many years ago in Iceland, where Indy found the stolen statue, the origins of which he was unable to identify. Kerner's next target is Sophia Hapgood, Indy's former colleague and love interest from that expedition. She has lost her interest in archaeology and started presenting herself as a psychic, giving seminars about Atlantis and communicating with the Atlantean god-king Nur-ab-sal as a part of them. Indy rushes to New York to one of such seminars currently held to warn Sophia and maybe protect her if necessary.

The race begins between Indy and the Nazis to find the mythical lost continent of Atlantis, which may contain technology vital to the future of the world, since the metal bead Kerner found in the statue was Orichalcum, a legendary metal that holds far more power than Uranium, without any harmful radiation. The element would be utilized as a great source of energy to machines and the base for extremely powerful bombs for the German Army.
