Windows Xp Installation Fiasco Options

Can you blame me for being reluctant to touch a working system ? What works fine is betetr to be left untouched. So i do with the forum. So i did with my main computer which i setup at 19th Feb 2004 and i never formatted since then. The machine performs quite well given the fact that it is a 3 year old PC. I have doubled the RAM of course and changed the 120GB SATA HD with a 10K RPM Western Digital Raptor that literally boosted performance.

Lately i tried to fix the Hibernating issues on Win XP SP1 + 2GB RAM : No solution, i needed to update to SP2. So i did....

Close to the 100% i got an "Acess Denied" error and i was offered a roll back. This was unsuccessful too so i was sure i was in real trouble this time... Blame me for not wanting to do any SP2 updates

Anyway, the PC got rebooted and never worked since then : a Blue Screen Of Death with "Stop: c0000135" and "winsrv was not found" error

So i had to search a lot because to build that machine from scratch in terms of software means 10 hours of work AT LEAST...

And what did i find ?

A FANTASTIC TUTORIAL BY MICROSOFT REGARDING WINDOWS XP SP2 UNINSTALLATION AND ROLLBACK TO SP1...

I had looked for that in the past too but back then in 2004 when i REALLY needed to remove some faulty SP2 installs it was not there for me ...

And the error i had : well, it is the Video-IN in my VGA : Here is the error explained and a hotfix for it...
