Most common users have no use for dual core processors for now. Benefits are present only in optimised games and are quite small. Unless you need doing several things on you computer at once or use it for jobs such as video encoding, you can do without dual-core.

i agree with you for the time being...
The thing is, with new games planned to take advantage of multiprocessor / multicore systems and the upcoming release of the new Windows Vista this is about to change in 2006
